Now Princess is in the hospital. At her checkup earlier this year, the vet noticed she'd lost weight and for some reason thought it had to do with kidneys. Full blood tests and urine test... blood ok, urine had to be redone, then showed nothing.

Saturday she was sitting on the couch drooling. (If you've only had dogs you should know this is a really really weird thing to see in cats, especially cats that don't have histories of drooling while being petted or something like that.) She wasn't lethargic, but she wasn't overly-energetic either. Sunday morning she was hungry, but turned up her nose at canned food (and she's usually a food whore, she'll even let ME pet her if I have food in my other hand). Hubby took her to the vet. The vet still thinks it's something to do with kidneys and kept her overnight with IV's and tests and stuff, she's going to be checked by the radiologist today, etc. The vet warned Hubby that they may not be able to pinpoint exactly what it is... and thus might not be able to fix it...

So this totally sucks, being so close to Astro's passing and all... I figured we had a couple years to go before she was old enough to worry about preparing for end-of-life decisions (she's only 6 or 7 years old). Honestly I've never been that close to her, she's only had eyes for Hubby ever since I brought her in the house. He's beside himself, she's his little girl who always sits next to her on the couch, etc.
