My best friend at school had her baby tonight. She has two boys and now a beautiful girl. All healthy and doing well. Baby's name is Alessandra and part of that is my name and is exciting for me.

My tomato seedlings are already sprouted! I keep going downstairs to admire them and coo over them.

I'm not tired and it's really late.

ARGH!!!

DH's car died a couple of weeks ago, and I'm having a terrible time trying to find a second car in our price range. Luckily he works close, and I don't need to go out every day. Plus he can sometimes borrow a company car for part or all of a day as needed.

Woke up with a head cold this morning - DH has had it all week and thoughtfully shared it with me. I could feel it coming on last night, and sure enough, I woke up with it.

I kept the car today to run a whole bunch of errands in one go. Halfway across the parking lot to run only the second errand on the list, I stepped off a curb wrong and went SPLAT on the ground. Skinned a leg and a hand, and twisted my ankle badly. Pretty sure it's not broken, but it's going to be mad at me tomorrow, because I soldiered on and got the rest of the day's errands done.

The kids were at each others' throats the. whole. freakin. time. we were out today. Nyah, nyah, nyah. ARGH.

My car's transmission is messed up, too, so tomorrow I get to take it in and sit for hours while they fix it. Oh joy.

I sincerely hope all of you are having a better day than me!

Went to the Pack leader meeting and got to sit between 2 men I would swear are brothers if I didn't know better.

When showing my boo-boos to the hubby, we discovered that apparently I hit the curb with my right leg - I have a giant, purple goose egg that looks about like I got hit in the leg with a softball.

My bruise has turned all "runny" down my leg. Scared DH a little when I showed it to him! LOL It's just the fluids seeping down into the tissues, but it looks weird.

I have crazy heart on my netflix queue. Wonder how many movies I can get them to ship out during my 2 week free trial Wondering if I should cancel HBO and keep netflix after my trial runs out.

We netflix. Haven't had HBO in many years.

I watched Big Love on HBO last night instead of the Oscars. I thought Cablevision still had blacked out Channel 7 but it doesn't matter, I wouldn't have watched the Oscars anyway.

Interesting. We haven't had a mortar attack in a while. Must have been a false alarm because the all-clear was given within 15 minutes.

We haven't had a real attack since last October (at least where I am; the outlying FOBs have had a few with no serious injuries), just a couple of false alarms lately. Something might be wrong with the radar censors. Iraqi national elections were Sunday and we didn't have any attacks on polling centers in our three provinces (Baghdad and Najaf had several each, the rest of the country was quiet).

Glad to hear it's "quiet"....and yes, THANK YOU.

Note for the day...I can see my back deck stairs again, all the way down. And the planted that has been buried since December 24 was visible again yesterday.

Would have been a shock if they'd said that. I'd have doubted pretty much anything else they told me after that. I didn't realize, although I should have, that the testing for language learning disabilities would also cover testing in other subjects.

LOL, I do it at least once a week. Probably why I crash and burn on the weekend.

It's doing that unmentionable act outside again. And it's the one day this week that I really needed to drive in to the office.

My coworker's daughter spent a couple weekends in a row doing a whole-house organizing thing. Last weekend it was the bedroom - she emptied out ALL the dresser drawers, the closet, the clothing in storage, sorted through it all, got rid of a lot, and took all the clothing she was keeping to the local laundromat/dry cleaner to clean for her, keeping back just the clothing she was going to wear this week.

Yesterday the place burned to the ground.

Well, between the dry cleaner's insurance (he should have some) and her homeowner's insurance, she should be able to go get a new wardrobe... now THAT's a way to organize and start fresh.

Oh sheesh, I thought "the place" was her home. I was going to say "at least her clothes were at the dry cleaners"!

I thought you meant the house, too. Not good for the dry cleaner, but better for her.

Oh, that's what I thought, too!

Woke up at 4:00 this morning. I was dreaming about seeing a shadowy figure outside the windows of the home I was in, and I yelled at the figure, "I'm calling 911!" but in the dream I couldn't yell as loudly as I wanted, so I was trying to yell more, and ended up calling out for real. Joseph touched me and I woke up, then I couldn't go back to sleep. It wasn't a scary dream, but I guess I was too awake. Now I'm very, very sleepy.

These dogs are driving me nuts.
